With the sun nearing the western horizon, the 639 foot M/V Saginaw has just locked through the Soo Locks at Sault Ste. Marie, MI and is downbound for Nanticoke, ON on Lake Erie. Owned by Lower Lakes Towing Ltd. of Port Dover, ON, the vessel had loaded nearly 20,000 tons of iron ore pellets at CN Duluth in Duluth, MN.
